Plugged(Embedded) Ball in the Rough.
Where a ball is plugged anywhere in the rough the following LOCAL RULE applies.
The player is allowed to pick up his ball, clean his ball, repair the pitch mark, and then drop his ball as close as possible to the original pitch mark but no closer to the hole.

Holes on Temporary Greens – Revised Ruling
Please note that where a ball putted on a temporary green hits the bottom of the cup and then bounces out, then the ball is deemed NOT to have been holed.
Efforts are to be made to see if any of the holes on temporary greens need to be deepened to a minimum of 4 inches.
Nomads Update 8/2/12.
The list for the above competitions has now been closed at 46 members and 23 twin rooms have been booked at the De Vere Hotel.Should any additional members wish to be considered then they will have to be put on a waiting list.
Unfortunately a slight error was made by me in calculating the original price instead of £90 we now need £91 pp to cover all costs including the tipping.
The course Wokefield Park ,Reading RG7 3AH is about 3 miles after jct.11 off the M4.
We have been allocated the following T-off times;
Tuesday 12th.June from 11.58.
Wednesday 13th.June from 10.38.
8No. Buggies have been provisionally booked and these will be allocated as existing circumstances prevail,I have negotiated a £5 discount off each buggy and a 10% discount for purchases from the golf shop on site.
Each member is expected to pay the full pp amount at the latest Tuesday 8th.May those failing to meet this date will not be allowed to take part.

BIG BAND WEEKEND AT THE GROVE
ON FRIDAY 6th JULY and SATURDAY 7th JULY 2012 THE GROVE GOLF CLUB WILL BE HOLDING A BIG BAND WEEKEND FEATURING “THE BIG WHAT?! BAND” & “KISMET” ON THE FRIDAY NIGHT FOLLOWED BY “BIG MAC’S WHOLLY SOUL BAND” & “KISMET” ON THE SATURDAY NIGHT. EVERY SECTION WITHIN THE GOLF CLUB ARE ENDEAVOURING TO SELL ALL THEIR TICKET ALLOCATION FOR BOTH NIGHTS WHICH WILL RESULT IN A FINANCIAL BENEFIT TO ALL. IT IS HOPED THAT MEMBERS OF THE SENIORS SECTION WILL WHOLEHEARTEDLY SUPPORT THIS BIGBAND WEEKEND AND HELP TO MAKE IT A GREAT SUCCESS. TICKETS ARE NOW AVAILABLE AT £8 each (to include Raffle Entry).

TYRE MARKS ON GOLF COURSE
Please note that where a players golfball lands on a tyre mark anywhere on the golf course the player has to play the golf ball as it lies. There is no free drop from such a lie irrespective of whether the tyre mark is just flattened grass or whether there is a tyre imprint on the ground. If this rule changes at any future date due to a Local Ruling then all players will be informed.
ENTERING SCORE CARDS ONLINE
AS FROM TUESDAY 22nd NOVEMBER 2011 ALL MEMBERS OF THE GROVE SENIORS SOCIETY MUST ENTER THEIR
SCORES ON THE TOUCHSCREEN SITUATED IN THE AREA OUTSIDE THE GOLF PRO SHOP BEFORE HANDING THEIR
CARDS TO THE CHECKERS FOR CHECKING. FAILURE TO DO SO WILL RESULT IN DISQUALIFICATION FROM THE
COMPETITION ON THAT DAY.
IT IS SUGGESTED THAT A LARGE “TICK” IS ENTERED ON THE CARD AFTER SCORES HAVE BEEN ENTERED ON-SCREEN,
AS CONFIRMATION THAT THE PLAYER HAS COMPLETED THE EXERCISE.
YOUR HELP IN THIS MATTER WILL BE FULLY APPRECIATED.
REVISED TEE-TIMES FOR WINTER PERIOD
PLEASE NOTE – Commencing Tuesday 15th November 2011 the Tee-Off Times have been changed U.F.N. as follows :-
1st Tee Start will be 0830hrs 14th Tee Start will be 0845hrs
These changes will be reflected on the list showing the Weekly Draw.
