Dear Members and friends

Thanks for your help for our successful SA day on Sunday 3rd June. We had 28 golfers and 16 had the meal incl some of Colin’s family. The ladies entered into the spirit of the fancy dress theme by dressing as a herd of zebra. This raised some eyebrows when we all met for coffee before teeing off. Unfortunately we could not find our fancy dress attire so thanks to all the Ladies who flew the flag high on my behalf. We had some rugby players and game rangers. Best fancy dress prize went to Lynda Dacey who even had a face mask and her face and body painted. This was a bit of a problem when the rain came down but great fun was had by all none-the-less. Thanks so much for all your support despite the showers.

Dick was missed but we wish him a speedy recovery.

Thanks to Mark for getting the early starters out and helping with the prizes. First prize with 98 points went to the Lady captain’s team. Clive and Ashley carried us but we did contribute at the end when all scores counted. Second prize went to Mike Scully’s team with 95 points and third prize with 94 points went to Alan Cole’s team. Congratulations to all our winners!!

Thanks to Amy for her help. Very special thanks to Emma, Justin and his staff for the meal. The bobotie was outstanding and everyone loved it. Just like my mum used to make! I know that some members are trying this recipe out for themselves at home!

I sincerely hope that the Grove can host some more successful mixed events.
